Ever since cinema halls and theatres are allowed 100 per cent occupancy, it looks like our filmmakers are not wasting anymore time and going ahead to release it in theatres. The first big film to release in theatres is Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Roohi. The film is made by the makers of Stree and this one too is horror-comedy.
This morning Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao both shared the first look of the film. In the first look, an eerie music plays in the background followed by the bridegrooms with their faces covered and a bride which gives you haunting vibes. The film is releasing on March 11th and the trailer will be out tomorrow. The actors have captioned the poster saying, Iss Bhootiya Shaadi mein aapka swagat hai!
Okay then, we’re really intrigued. Take a look at the glimpse here.
Roohi is directed by Hardik Mehta and written by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, and the makers of Roohi hope to pave the way for films slated for a theatrical release with the first major 1,500 screen plus pan-India release this year. Producer Dinesh Vijan, Maddock Films, says “At Maddock, we are all storytellers driven by our love for cinema in all its vibrant forms. While Stree was a genre bending tale that gave audiences something never seen before, Roohi takes this vision a step further by offering the same brand of spine chilling scares and quirky comedy. With a partner like Jio Studios that shares our passion for the eponymous “bada parda”, we hope Roohi rekindles the audience’s long standing romance with the silver screen. It is a film tailor made to be viewed at your nearest theatre” Can’t wait for this one!
