In March 2006, MohammadKaif was recalled to the Test Team in place of the wounded Yuvraj Singh for the First Test against England in Nagpur. Given a top score of 91 to save the Test match, he was overlooked for the next match when Yuvraj regained his health. But he finds a spot in the four West Indies Tests after Sachin Tendulkar was injured. In the second test, he scored 148, his maiden test century.
