Former Indian Cricketer Surinder Khanna has expressed his desire for a farewell match for the retired skipper, MS Dhoni. Surinder Khanna is the present ICA Representative Nominee to the IPL Governing Council.
Earlier BCCI organized farewell matches for senior Cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble. Being a cricketer Sourav Ganguly as the president of BCCI should honor Dhoni with a farewell match, Khanna said.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni last night announced goodbye to international cricket leading fans getting emotional over this decision.
With a post on social media, the 39-year-old batsman and wicket-keeper, who guided the national team and IPL team to many victories; Dhoni, the perhaps most effective Indian captain posted a video clip on Instagram, “From 19:29 hrs consider me as Retired.”
Surinder Khanna said, “MS Dhoni was a great captain with outstanding performance and a great finisher. With his legendary captaincy skills, he made the Indian Cricket team win the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. The contribution of 12 to 13 years is unparalleled. He deserves a befitting farewell.”
