Everything that Kareena Kapoor Khan follows and does herself, becomes a trend. She has proudly stated that she is a Punjabi, she loves her food. She has been a role model in preaching how unhealthy dieting is not the solution to stay fit. Her nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar spoke at length, sometime back about the diva’s diet. As the due date of her second pregnancy is around the corner, here is a sneak peek into what the star indulges in to take care of her pregnancy cravings.
Kareena is a strong believer in sustainable diets. She is all about ‘Ghar ka khana’ and her diet chart is proof of that. The nutritionist listed down what Kareena’s basic food chart has looked like in a day on the onset of her second pregnancy. Her meals would be divided into 4-5 sections and would include soaked badams or bananas for her first meal around 9, around 12 – some Dahi rice and papad or roti or dal and Paneer sabzi, her third meal would include titbits like a bowl of peanuts, or some papaya or a piece of cheese maybe. Around 2 or 3 pm she would indulge in a bowl of fruit, say some litchis or chivda or a glass of milkshake. Her dinner mostly consisted of some boondi raita with palak or pudina roti, or some simple dal and sabzi, or some veg pulao and raita. She would gulp down a glass of Haldi milk with some nutmeg before hitting the bed. Since Kareena has been a vegetarian for a long period in her life, she does not find it too difficult to go without meat at a stretch. She takes care of her sudden cravings by gorging on nuts, fruits, a glass of chaas, or nariyal pani. Kareena also swears by her love for ghee and never compromises on it as she calls it her ‘superfood.’ Her first pregnancy taught her not to overeat when conceiving a child and she seems to have gotten it all mapped out right this time with her nutritionist.
