Celebrities support Janta Curfew by PM Modi

On 19th March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the outbreak of coronavirus across the globe and the world. On March 22, as part of a trial run to test social isolation to curb coronavirus spread, he appealed to people to observe a self-curfew, called a Janta curfew.

PM Modi asked political and religious leaders to spread the concept with their fans and supporters, as well as famous celebrities. Bollywood was prompt in lending support. Stars like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn have been calling on their followers to follow the curfew.

They also invited everyone to move out into their balconies and come to their doors on Sunday at 5 pm to thank the medical staff battling the epidemic for their work, as suggested in his speech by the prime minister.
