Aaron William Benjamin, the next Chaminda Vaas?

Aaron William Benjamin, the Srilanka based UAE National cricketer will he be the next Chaminda Vaas? The Left-arm fast-medium bowler is growing in U19 International cricket with a great track record.

Aaron William Benjamin was trained by Chaminda Vaas in 2015 for the first time at the Tamil Union cricket club in Sri Lanka. From Chaminda, he learnt how to swing the ball and got the pointers on how to improve accuracy.

After going back to the UAE and implemented the tips learnt in the next season and Aaron William Benjamin managed to break the record for the most wickets taken by a fast bowler in a season (22 wickets).

After this season Aaron William Benjamin received call up to the UAE U19 team and he traveled with them for the 2018 U19 Asia cup held in Bangladesh. There he performed well and the Debut wickets were of the Indian captain and vice-captain.

At that same time, Chaminda Vaas was the coach of the Sri Lanka U19’s, so Aaron William Benjamin managed to meet him for the second time. Aaron William Benjamin recalls – “But this time my action had changed and I was looking in a much better position because of his coaching.”

With the guidance of Chaminda Vaas who is also a left-arm fast-medium bowler, Aaron William Benjamin with his unbeaten performance, dedication, and with many similarities, no doubt will be the next Chaminda Vaas of International Cricket.
